The Washington, DC mayor, Muriel Bowser, together with the Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, and Secretary of Labor, Marty Walsh, were led on a tour of the construction site atop the new Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge on May 19th. Veritas Steel’s Eau Claire, WI and Palatka, FL plants are proud to have fabricated 3,150 tons of steel for the arches and 4,000 tons of structural steel plate girders for this project. This beautiful bridge, which will replace the old Fredrick Douglass Memorial Bridge, spans the Anacostia River and is set to open this fall.
