The 130-year-old, historic Merchants Bridge in downtown St. Louis is being rehabilitated, and Veritas Steel is proud to be the fabricator providing the bridge trusses that will allow this single- track rail bridge to increase its load capacity to 2 tracks upon completion. The Merchants Bridge, which crosses the Mississippi River between St. Louis and Venice, Illinois, currently accommodates an average of 38 trains daily, and with the rehabilitation, the bridge will likely see an increase of 49% in rail tonnage.
