Standing 204 ft. above the water, Minnesota’s Highway 53 Bridge over Rochleau Pit in Virginia, Minnesota is the tallest in the state. The bridge consists of approximately 5,230 tons of weathering steel crossing a total distance of 1,125 ft. It features a haunched girder design with varying web depths of 7 ft. 9 in. deep at the East abutment, 9 ft. 4 in. deep at the West abutment, and 14 ft. 6 in. deep at the two piers.
